In an unknown country on the edge of Africa, nature is unique; many animals and plants are found only there. But Madagascar's main problem is the poverty of the population. The gross domestic product per capita on the world's fourth-largest island was recorded at just $530 in 2023. This makes Madagascar the fifth poorest country in the world.
